When good strategy and creative come together…
As a creative agency that lives and breathes our clients vision, it was such a unique challenge to come up with a piece of work that would appeal all across Africa, from Cape to Cairo and at the same time sell diverse technologies. Oh yes! We took up the challenge and created the Econet Group “We speak African” campaign. Telling the story was an adventure of it’s own, speaking on behalf of Dicomm McCann, MD Mr. Charles Mutemera went on to say ‘The final product had to be pan African. Finding the right locations and typical African faces that were not only authentic but could portray various regions within the continent was not an easy task, but as a team I think we achieved it successfully.” Our job was not complete with just creation alone, once produced, we needed to share our story right across the continent whose story it told. We owned the internet like the boss and gained traction, till many started asking who had carefully crafted this #WeSpeakAfrican message.
As we all know, the social media landscape has changed drastically since the MySpace era. Growing with the trends, ours was to ensure that each and every African connected and owned the #WeSpeakAfrican message. So we let Africans, own and run with the message, and like veld fire it spread to any and everyone within their reach.
